Toxic Lyrikali represents East Africa and is known for his hip hop ethos “mboka doba” (music is a job). He has recently released a dancehall single titled ‘Backbencher’ following his earlier tracks. He expressed his happiness about being selected for Up Next East Africa.
Raevin combines Afrobeats, Afropop, and highlife into a unique Afro-fusion sound. He gained popularity with his feature on King Promise’s hit ‘Terminator’ and has released his debut EP called Feelings of Raevin, produced by Grammy-nominated Killbeatz. He feels honored to represent Ghana in the Up Next programme.
Efue from Nigeria is recognized for her songwriting and her blend of Afro-soul, Afrobeats, house, and soul. Her debut EP, Memorabilia, is a collection of songs that reflect her personal letters. She is excited about this opportunity.
Trillion Petals, the solo project of Alison Rachel from the band HONEYMOAN, has released her debut EP Hill After Pale Hill. She expressed her thrill about being chosen for Up Next South Africa. The programme continues to aim at introducing diverse new voices to a global audience.
